Sometimes, you just need someone to listen.

No Homework or Plans
No questionnaires to fill in beforehand. No follow-up checklists. You arrive as you are.
Gentle & Low-Pressure
Book a date and time that suits your life. Cancel or reschedule easily if plans change.
An uncomplicated, unhurried space.
You don't need to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or arrive with a goal. Here is what makes these 55 minutes different from everyday life.
You choose the terrain
Whether exploring the psychological realities of control, an unspoken grief, inherited silence, or thoughts you’ve never felt permitted to say aloud—whatever you bring into the room is the only agenda that matters.
No programme, no curriculum
You will never be handed a rigid workbook, a diagnostic label, or an unsolicited framework. The space is unburdened by corporate coaching formulas or tidy clinical classifications.
Spacious, patient listening
Shahd Karaeen’s role is first and foremost to listen deeply. Pauses and silences are never rushed. When she asks a question or offers an observation, it is to hold a mirror gently, never to instruct.
Zero preparation needed
You do not need to organize your thoughts into bullet points or practice how to explain yourself. Bring the fragments. Bring the hesitation. We begin wherever you happen to take your first breath.
No required outcome
You are not required to leave with a resolution, an action checklist, or forced gratitude. Often, simply having your reality heard and acknowledged without judgment is the only outcome that counts.
What might you bring into the room?
There is no threshold of importance or tidiness required. Women often book a session for:
A quiet crossroad: Contemplating leaving a job, a relationship, or an identity that no longer fits.
Unfiltered unloading: Saying the messy, politically incorrect, or exhausted thoughts you can't tell your family.
Invisible labor: The exhaustion of holding everyone else’s emotional and domestic worlds together.
Quiet grief or change: A shift in health, children leaving home, an unacknowledged ending, or an unfulfilled longing.
"Or simply a Tuesday afternoon when you need to hear your own voice bounce back from someone who is truly paying attention."
“If everyone agrees on a version of you that is not true… does it become truth anyway?”
In relationships, families, and silent compromises, the world often builds a story about us. This listening room exists so you can speak your unedited truth—without anyone correcting or replacing you.
Meet Shahd Karaeen
Author, listener, and founder of Re-Embroidered Conversations

“When you sit with me, you don't have to edit your truth or protect anyone’s comfort. Survival is not a weakness—it is proof of your resilience. You are safe to put the burden down.”
“For as long as I can remember, words have been the way back to oneself.”
Born in Jerusalem and now rooted in the United Kingdom, my perspective has been shaped by the liminal spaces between homeland, displacement, and the unwritten expectations placed upon women across cultures. Long before I published my work, I kept diaries as a refuge—using words to name fears, untangle silence, and make sense of the quiet pressures women are taught to absorb.
Over the years, those private journals evolved into poetry, fiction, and the novel Hope: Re-Embroidered, alongside the Re-Embroidered Conversations series. As someone who has walked through the realities of survival and emotional conditioning, I know intimately what it means to feel unseen, isolated, or conditioned to endure in silence.
I am deeply interested in what happens behind closed doors—how silence operates within families, marriages, and cultural structures, and how speaking what has been buried can become an act of profound reclamation.
These one-to-one sessions are not about providing tidy solutions. They are a dedicated, safe threshold where the truths you have carried quietly can finally be heard, untangled, and met with absolute presence.
Roles, Affiliations & Public Voice
An International Voice on Silence, Memory & Justice
Examining human endurance and unexpressed truth alongside global philosophers and authors at the Netherlands’ foremost cultural think-tank.
Where continental philosophy meets the poetry of what remains unsaid.
In European intellectual circles, the Nexus Instituut has stood for decades as a prestigious forum for philosophical discourse—convening writers, philosophers, and humanists to reflect on human dignity and civilization.
Shahd Karaeen’s literary work is featured in the landmark milestone centenary edition, Tijdschrift Nexus (Nexus 100, 2026). Her contributions interrogate the anatomy of silence: how trauma and systemic silencing affect the human spirit, the quiet courage required to hold memory intact, and the profound moral necessity of bearing witness to what is withheld.
This published body of work does not belong merely to seminar rooms or printed journals. It forms the intellectual foundation of her listening practice. When listening to people who have spent years navigating unspoken conflicts, her presence is guided by a poet’s precision and a philosopher’s patience.
The Discipline of The Poet's Ear
“To listen as a poet is not to categorize or diagnose. It is to attend to cadence, to respect the pauses where words fail, and to honor the exact weight of what a person finally finds the courage to speak.”

Shahd Karaeen
Palestinian poet, author, and speaker on justice, resilience, and memory
“Silence is not the peaceful absence of noise; it is an invisible architecture built to protect equilibrium at the expense of reality. Reclamation begins the moment we cease agreeing to our own erasure.”
Rooted in the novel
Hope: Re-Embroidered
These sessions and the Re-Embroidered Conversations series grew directly out of the psychological themes of Shahd Karaeen's novel, Hope: Re-Embroidered. Following a woman confronting coercive control, memory, and inherited patterns of silence while seeking autonomy, the novel examines how trauma shapes identity—and how survival often begins with the quiet courage of telling the unvarnished truth.
“What changed was not a person. It was the space I allowed myself to occupy.”
This space is an invitation to step away from the pressure to endure quietly. It is a room to explore the realities of survival, identity, and healing without needing to justify yourself to anyone.
